Le mappe con dettagli intricati si apprezzano al meglio in formati più grandi, che permettono di valorizzare maggiormente i toponimi e gli elementi più piccoli. Mappe con cornice
Le nostre cornici standard aggiungono circa 2 cm (0,75 in) per lato. Ad esempio, una mappa da 45x60 cm misura circa 49x64 cm cornice inclusa, mentre una mappa da 24x36 in misura circa 25,5x37,5 in. Tieni conto di queste dimensioni esterne quando misuri lo spazio sulla parete.

Mappe senza cornice

Scegliere una cornice adatta
Utilizza le dimensioni indicate per la mappa scelta per selezionare una cornice. Considera la misura dell'opera che la cornice può contenere, piuttosto che le dimensioni esterne della cornice stessa.
Ad esempio, una mappa da 18x24 pollici richiede una cornice che 'fits artwork' di 18x24 pollici. Per una mappa da 60x90 cm, scegli una cornice adatta a un'opera da 60x90 cm.
Per i formati insoliti, come 24x11 pollici (61x29 cm), consigliamo di attendere l'arrivo della mappa prima di ordinare una cornice. Le dimensioni possono variare di qualche millimetro, quindi misurare prima la stampa aiuterà a garantire una perfetta vestibilità.
Per una mappa che deve adattarsi a dimensioni esatte in centimetri o pollici, vi preghiamo di contattarci. Il ridimensionamento su misura è disponibile senza costi aggiuntivi per mappe superiori a 50in/125cm.
Incorniciare mappe di grandi dimensioni
Prima di ordinare una cornice separata per una mappa di grandi dimensioni, attendete l’arrivo della stampa e misuratela. In questo modo avrete le dimensioni necessarie per scegliere una cornice con sicurezza.
Se vi rivolgete a un corniciaio locale, portate con voi la mappa così potrà misurarla e realizzare una cornice su misura.

Rather than illustrating sunrise literally, Mucha gives the hour a human presence: languid, graceful and poised between sleep and wakefulness.
The decorative lithograph belongs to the visual world that made Mucha one of the defining artists of Art Nouveau. During the Belle Époque, his posters and allegorical compositions brought flowing contour, stylised flowers and elaborate ornament into the public sphere. Women frequently occupy the centre of these designs, not as conventional portraits but as personifications of seasons, flowers, arts or states of being. In Dawn, that approach turns a fleeting moment of the day into a carefully orchestrated harmony of figure, landscape and pattern.
A closer look
The composition is notably horizontal, allowing the reclining woman and her drapery to unfold across the lower part of the scene. Positioned slightly away from the centre, she is balanced by the darker vegetation at the upper left and by the open luminosity of the sky to the right. The resulting asymmetry feels unforced: the eye travels along the fabric, rises towards the figure’s face and hair, then continues into the pale distance.
Mucha’s line is at its most delicate around the body. Fine contours describe the face, arms and folds of cloth without disturbing the image’s prevailing softness. Subtle highlights give the hair a lustrous quality, while shallow shadows beneath the figure anchor her within the setting. Across the lower edge, the fabric forms a broad, undulating band; its folds and understated pattern bring visual rhythm to an otherwise tranquil scene.
The landscape is constructed in gentle layers. Dark branches and foliage press into the upper-left corner, creating an organic frame and providing a cool, weighty contrast to the radiant background. Further away, muted trees and low hills dissolve into softened silhouettes. Their restrained greens and browns temper the dominant oranges and pinks, while the changing sky supplies the composition’s quiet sense of time. Mucha’s signature appears discreetly at the lower right, its fine script integrated into the decorative flow rather than competing with it.
Context and significance
Mucha’s success lay partly in his ability to reconcile the clarity required of graphic art with the luxuriant detail of fin-de-siècle decoration. His compositions are immediately legible from a distance, yet reward closer attention through patterned textiles, floral forms and finely controlled outlines. This balance helped establish the distinctive style associated with his name: elegant figures enclosed or framed by ornament, with every curve contributing to the unity of the design.
Dawn is quieter than a typography-led commercial poster, but it retains the same command of graphic structure. We print and frame maps and artwork in 24 countries around the world, so your order is usually made close to you or your recipient. That means faster delivery, less time in transit, and no customs or import duty surprises.
Personalised and customised pieces usually take an extra 1–2 working days, because we prepare your design and send it to you for approval before printing.
Very large framed orders can take a little longer, as they need extra care in production and delivery.
Every order is carefully packaged: unframed prints are sent in a strong protective tube, while framed pieces are securely packed with protective materials around the frame.

Our standard frame is a gallery-style black ash hardwood frame, with a simple, modern look. It is approximately 20mm (0.8in) wide. You can also view some lovely customer photos of framed maps and art.
We use super-clear acrylic glazing, also known as Perspex or Acrylite, instead of traditional glass. It is lighter, safer, and has lower reflectivity, giving the artwork a clearer, cleaner appearance.
Six standard frame colours are available at no extra cost: black, dark brown, dark grey, oak, white, and antique gold. Custom framing and mounting/matting is also available for customers looking for something more specific.
Most maps, art prints, and illustrations are also available as a framed canvas. We use matte cotton canvas, stretch it over a sustainably sourced wooden box frame, and then float the piece within a wooden outer frame. The finished result is beautifully presented, with no glazing between you and the artwork.
All frames are supplied ready to hang, with either string or brackets fitted to the back. Very large frames will include heavy-duty hanging plates and/or a mounting baton. If you have any questions, please get in touch.
