This wonderful old map of the Palace of Versailles in Paris and its gardens was originally published in 1920. It was created by Laconte.
A very colourful map which demonstrates the massive size and grandeur of Versailles. As a former royal residence constructed between 1631 and 1634 by King Louis XIV, it is known today for its garden, architecture and water features (including musical garden shows). It is one of the most visited sites in France.
As well as the Palace of Versailles, there are many other things to see: the Grand Canal, The Hall of Mirrors, The Gallery of Great Battles and the Gardens of Versailles.
This map looks great at all sizes: 8x10in (20.5x25.5cm), 12x16in (30.5x41cm), 18x24in (45.5x61cm), 16x20in (40.5x51cm), 24x36in (61x91.5cm) and 30x40in (76x101.5cm), but it looks even better when printed large.
I can create beautiful, large prints of this map up to 50in (127cm). Please get in touch if you're looking for larger, customised or different framing options.
The model in the listing images is holding the 24x36in (61x91.5cm) version of this map.

If you’re looking for something slightly different, another option would be this amazing map of Paris by Charles Francois Delamarche in 1797.
The locations on this map include: Paris, Château de Versailles, Grand Canal, Avenue de Paris, Church of St. Anthony of Padua, The Royal Court, Versailles Cathedral, the statue of King Louis XIV and the Lake of the Swiss Guard.
Please contact me to check if a certain location, landmark or feature is shown on this map.
This would make a wonderful birthday, Christmas, Father's Day, work leaving or housewarming gift for someone interested in the Palace of Versailles in Paris and its gardens or the history and design of perhaps the most famous royal residence in the world.
This map is available as a giclée print on acid free archival matte paper, or you can buy it framed. The frame is a nice, simple black frame that suits most aesthetics. Please get in touch if you'd like a different frame colour or material. My frames are glazed with super-clear museum-grade acrylic (perspex/acrylite), which is significantly less reflective than glass, safer, and will always arrive in perfect condition.
